I am a photographer.
My son (who is a grown up) once told me, about three or four years ago, that I was something between an illustrator, a painter and a poet with a camera.
That was quite the compliment, but I rather see myself as someone very curious and always in search of the perfect light to translate my vision of things.
There are many amazing things to see in our beautiful blue world and there is also much to see elsewhere.
In places where only the imagination can run wild, the virtual worlds.
This is why I have been "virtual-trotting" all over what is called "grids".
You can find a very good definition of what virtual worlds are on Wikipedia, I will not tell more about them here.
I do not know if the word virtual-trotting exists but I am using it all the same ^_^
I have been doing this, taking photographies in the real world and pictures in virtual worlds, for a few years now.
Most of the photographies that you will see here, are the results of the visits I have been doing on these virtual worlds.
I also frequently go on foot in Troyes, the town where I actually live, to take pictures, only in black and white.
Troyes is an old medieval town that you can find in France, in the region of Champagne, not very far from Paris - about 200kms.
It is a lovely old town which used to be the capital city of the counts of Champagne.
About the virtual worlds where I go, if you ask me why I take pictures there and why I take pictures of something that is not real, rather than of what is real, I will answer you that anything can be a good subject or theme for art.
There are so many things that are amazingly beautiful in these worlds and so many people that are creative.
Virtual worlds are part one of the many kinds three dimensionnal works that you can find. They are absolutely fascinating.
I do not and must insist on the not, use Photoshop or Gimp. I do not have the use of these tools.
I use my computer as a "camera", the same way I use my "real life" one.
I think and work the same way there, when I take my pictures, as I do in real life. You may not believe it, but these virtual worlds are often very similar to the real world than you think.
I use light, perspective, depth of field and so on. Nothing more. No retouches, no enhancements of any kind.
